On this Tuesday's 'Classical Journey' we will be joined by counter-tenor Jonathan Peter Kenny. Jonathan is performing with the English Touring Opera Company during their six day visit to Devon next week. He will also be conducting two Handel Operas, 'Flavio' and 'Xerxes', at the Northcott Theatre.

Jonathan will talk about the production which will include a variety of baroque and renaissance music. We can also listen to some appropriate music.

1596 - Naples - Carlo Gesualdo - 'Il Sol Qualor Più Splende'
1680 - Lubeck - Dietrich Buxtehude - Toccata in G
1962 - London - Henry Purcell - 'The Fairy-Queen'
1714 - Weimar - Johann Sebastian Bach - Cantata 54
1738 - London - George Frederick Handel - 'Xerxes'

See the run-down in the post below for details of all the ETO concerts.

Later in the show we will hear more about Mary O'Shea's solo soprano lunchtime recital - at Glenorchy in Exmouth on Wednesday. Also Clive Betts, guitarist and roving reporter, will be coming in to tell us about the Remembrance Concert on Saturday in Tiverton.

There will also be plenty more music to bring us up to the modern day.
