Rehearsals continue at Exeter University Chapel for Counterpoint's 'In Memoriam' concert next Saturday.

Fifteen exquisite renaissance songs from the 1612 memorial to James I's son, Henry, Prince of Wales .

With each run-through, the sound becomes even more complex and captivating.

When it's transferred to Buckfast Abbey, this concert will be a masterpiece!

Thomas Ravenscroft (1582-1635): 'Remember, O thou man'
Thomas Morley: 'Nolo Mortem Peccatoris' (anthem for 4 voices)
Robert Ramsay (1590-1644: 'When David Heard that Absalom was Slain'
Orlando Gibbons: 'O Lord, in thy wrath rebuke me not'
Alonso Lobo (1555-1617): 'Versa est in lutum'
Thomas Weelkes (1576-1623): 'Laboravi in gemitu meo'
Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla (1590-1644): 'Circumdederunt me dolores mortis'
Thomas Morley: Funeral Sentences II (even more moving!)
Thomas Weelkes (1576-1623): 'When David heard'
William Byrd: 'Ave Verum Corpus'
