Two Moors Festival 15th Series Dartmoor & Exmoor Thursday 15 October - Sunday 25 October 2015

Press Release from Penny Adie

The Two Moors Festival, renowned as a leading chamber music festival in the UK, attracts esteemed artists from across the globe.

Each year visitors from as far as Europe, America and Canada are attracted to the beauties of Dartmoor and Exmoor to attend October’s ten-day music marathon. Keen walkers find the location irresistible, excellent accommodation abounds and the famous Devon Cream Tea is to be found in every village.

BBC Radio 3 has broadcast live concerts on several occasions; 2006’s commissioned opera, ‘Tarka the Otter’ won Stephen McNeff Best Stage Composer’s Award in the BBC 2007 British Composers Awards and HRH The Countess of Wessex agreed to become Patron the same year.

In 2014 alone, Viktoria Mullova, Kate Royal, Angela Hewitt and Trevor Pinnock were among the glittering array of performers who relished the opportunity to give recitals in one of the most scenic areas in Britain.

This year sees the Festival’s fifteenth Anniversary taking place. More distinguished artists than ever are appearing in 2015, in a programme encompassing early music, the classical and romantic period, contemporary opera and a full-scale orchestral concert.
